LNA: Legal Netlink Alliance

Legal Netlink Alliance

Legal Netlink Alliance is a global alliance of carefully selected, midsized, general practice, independent law firms. Firms are selected for membership because they represent a high level of quality and integrity. The network’s membership of first class law firms gives the client access to quality legal representation virtually anywhere in the world. Legal Netlink Alliance offers clients the breadth and resources of a large legal organization without the inherent inefficiencies, conflict issues and impersonal nature that burden large international law firms.

New Firm Spotlight

Apperson Crump

With a history dating back to 1865 and a roster of 29 skilled attorneys, Apperson Crump is both one of the oldest and largest member firms in Legal Netlink Alliance.  The firm represents regional, national and international clients in complex litigation and transactional matters from its two Tennessee offices located in the cities of Memphis and Nashville.

The firm’s attorneys are recognized leaders in producing positive outcomes for clients in the areas of estates and trusts, commercial financing and banking, domestic relations and mediation, elder law, labor and employment, real estate, tax planning, business formation and litigation, and health care law.  The firm also has an established transportation/transit practice, and a national practice in crime victims’ rights.

W. Joseph Aldridge, a partner in the Memphis office, believes the firm’s history of success on behalf of clients is due in large part to the tenure of many of the attorneys and staff, as well as a strong commitment to responsiveness.  “There is a certain trust and efficiency that develops when legal professionals work together for a long time, and we have that at Apperson Crump,” said Aldridge.  “It’s an asset to the practice of law, and directly translates into superior results for our clients.”

Apperson Crump’s client base is diverse and includes both large national corporations such as Nike and Sun Trust Bank, and also smaller family-owned businesses and individuals.  The firm has served as trusted counsel for numerous government agencies, including the City of Memphis, Shelby County School District, and the Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA).

Legal Administrator, Betsy Widdop, has seen the firm evolve into something more than your average group of professionals over her 25-year employment with Apperson Crump.  She believes the firm’s excellent reputation has a lot to do with exceeding expectations in both large and small client issues, and also working in a way that brings integrity to the practice of law.  “There are a number of things that distinguish our firm from others, such as our in-house Ethics Officer and the ability to grow through both acquisition and strong hires,” said Widdop.  “But in the end, it comes down to a culture that promotes high quality legal work done the right way.”

Apperson Crump’s decision to join LNA is rooted in a desire to provide additional value to the firm’s clients.  “We want to be able to refer client matters to skilled attorneys in other jurisdictions with confidence that the work will be done correctly, but also by attorneys who believe in the same cost control measures we’ve implemented over nearly 150 years.”
