Chattertons Solicitors & Wealth Management is delighted to announce the acquisition of Double & Megson Solicitors, effective 1 July 2026, further strengthening the firm's presence across Lincolnshire and the East Midlands.

The acquisition forms part of Chattertons' long-term growth strategy and follows a series of strategic investments in its regional network, including the acquisitions of Page Nelson and JGQC in Lincoln in 2025. The addition of offices in Bourne and Market Deeping extends the firm's reach across Lincolnshire and supports its ambition to be a leading provider of integrated legal, wealth management and tax advisory services in the region.

For international clients and professional contacts, Lincolnshire is a county in the East Midlands of England with a diverse economy spanning agriculture and food production, manufacturing, logistics, energy and a growing range of commercial enterprises. Chattertons' continued investment in the region reflects the firm's commitment to providing businesses and private clients with access to broad professional expertise through a strong local office network.

Continuity for clients, with access to wider expertise

Founded in 1978, Double & Megson has developed a longstanding reputation for community-focused legal advice in Bourne, Market Deeping and the surrounding areas.

Its offices at 11 Market Place, Market Deeping, and 4 West Street, Bourne, will continue to operate under the Chattertons brand. Existing clients will continue to be supported by the teams they know, while gaining access to Chattertons' wider range of commercial and private client legal services, independent financial advice and specialist tax planning.

Current Double & Megson owners Richard Wood and Shanta Shah will join Chattertons as consultants, providing continuity of leadership and supporting a smooth transition for clients and colleagues.
