Chattertons Solicitors Establish Construction Law Team

Aug 01, 2024 – Stamford, UK

Chattertons Solicitors, the esteemed East Midlands law firm, is pleased to announce that we have recently welcomed two construction lawyers to form our first dedicated construction law team.

The team will be based at our Stamford office but will provide construction law advice across the firm's 8 Lincolnshire and Newark offices.

Lorna Carter, Partner and Sarah Lidgett, Associate Solicitor are highly regarded in their sector and recognised in The Legal 500. Their appointments further strengthen the firm's growing commercial property team, by providing niche construction law expertise – both contentious and non-contentious to the construction and engineering industry.

Lorna Carter is a Chartered Legal Executive who has specialised in construction law for nearly 30 years. She works across the industry both advising on the resolution of disputes including by mediation, adjudication, arbitration and in Court using the Technology and Construction Court. She also drafts the construction documentation required for both development projects.

Lorna said, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to found Chattertons' first construction law team and look forward to getting to know the construction industry in Lincolnshire as well as retaining strong links with my existing loyal clients. It is great that Sarah has been able to join me, and I am very much enjoying working with her again.”

Sarah Lidgett also advises on all construction matters including drafting construction documentation for construction projects and advising on resolving construction disputes.

Sarah is approachable and responsive, offering practical assistance to guide clients through the process and the tricky pitfalls of the industry.

Sarah said, “I am returning to work following maternity leave and have found the staff at Chattertons very welcoming. I am enjoying getting stuck back into work, reconnecting with clients and contacts and the diversity of the work too.”
