February 2, 2018

Oakland, CA

Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean LLP, the largest law firm in the East Bay representing businesses throughout the Bay Area and state, welcomes attorney Mia Butera as an associate in the firm’s Business Practice Group.

“Mia’s experiences – both serving clients and in corporate legal departments – give her the broad business perspective that we look for and our clients value. In all our recruiting and hiring efforts, we seek out smart, service-oriented lawyers with a business mindset and appreciation for leveraging their legal know-how to get our clients’ deals done,” said Managing Partner Richard Waxman.

Butera has nearly five years’ experience in business and contract law, including assisting clients with commercial agreements, entity formation and corporate structuring, and corporate governance and transactions. She joins the firm from the Rogoway Law Group and has experience as a contract attorney for Stripe. Butera was the first in-house attorney for Instacart, overseeing all legal matters, including commercial partnership agreements, wage and hour compliance and litigation oversight. She also worked as a deal specialist for Oracle, drafting contracts and counseling business teams on high-value commercial agreements.

Butera earned her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law (2013) and her B.A. from McGill University (2008).
