TEAM ROBINS APPLEBY & TAUB RAISES $75,000 FOR ALZHEIMER'S RESEARCH IN THE
2009 BAYCREST PRO AM

Led by team captain, David Schlesinger, team Robins Appleby & Taub participated for the 3rd consecutive year in the Baycrest Pro Am hockey tournament. Our team had its most successful year, raising $75,000 which put us in 3rd position out of 50 teams. Other members of the team included our very own Jonathan Zepp and Shawn Pulver together with a number of our clients.

We congratulate David Schlesinger on winning the inaugural Gordie Howe trophy by raising more than $35,000. The trophy, which was presented by Gordie Howe himself, was awarded to David as the top individual fund raiser at the tournament. We also congratulate Ronnie Appleby who recently completed his three year term as the Chairman of the Baycrest Foundation. Baycrest is a world class academic health sciences centre focusing on brain function and mental health related to aging.

As part of the Pro Am tournament, each of the 50 teams draft one NHL alumni to play on their team. With the 3rd pick in the draft, Robins Appleby & Taub selected Paul Coffey who left little doubt that he is one of the best defenceman to ever play the game. Other NHL alumni who participated in the tournament included Doug Gilmour, Gary Roberts, Borje Salming and Wendel Clark. This year's tournament raised a total of $2.1 Million for Alzheimer's research and related disorders.

SALE OF ATCO CENTRE EDMONTON
On January 12, 2009, two major Canadian Pension Funds and Edcal (No.2) Limited Partnership, as vendors, completed the sale of the ATCO Centre Edmonton to two other major Canadian Pension Funds, as purchasers, for an aggregate sale price of $110,000,000. The ATCO Centre is a Class A, 20-storey, 285,461 square foot office tower located in downtown Edmonton.

The vendors were represented with a team led by Neill Kalvin and assisted by Peggy Spadafora and Helen Wright.

While Larry's restaurant had been successful in the past, it is currently in serious financial trouble and so is Larry. The restaurant will be closing its doors permanently and Larry is considering filing personal bankruptcy. Larry does not want to lose his life savings and is particularly concerned about his RRSPs.
